In My Mailbox (20)

In My Mailbox is hosted by The Story Siren. This week was a slow week because I only got 1 book.

Bought:
The Da Vinici Code by Dan Brown
I've read Angels and Demons and I can't say that I really liked but I would like to see how the movie is different from the book. Plus, it was only a dollar!

Nourishing the Need (6)

Nourishing the Need is a blog feature that will be posted here every week. It will feature Book Covers and Book Finds and will also give me an opportunity to let me talk anything about books!

I decided to this every other week so that maybe I can get more books during the time. So enjoy!

Book Covers:
Revolution by Jennifer Donnelly
I don't know hwy I really like the cover. I just really like that one half of the cover is black and white and the other half is in color. Plus I like how the one in color looks like the pictures a long time ago.

Losing Faith by Denise Jaden
It seems so plain but at the same time it's so pretty! I like the colors that they used and how the flower seems to turn into flowers that are flying away.

Book Finds:
The Replacement by Brenna Yovanoff
This story seems very interesting and unlike anything that I've ever read before. And the cover is kind of creepy but I really like it!

Timeless by Alexandra Monir
I haven't read a story like this and it sound interesting! Plus, I really the cover! The colors that they used and how not all of the model's body is shown.

Spirit Bound by Richelle Mead

Title: Spirit Bound
Author: Richelle Mead
Published: May 2010
Pages: 489
Rating: 5/5
Summary: Dimitri gave Rose the ultimate choice. But she chose wrong…

After a long and heartbreaking journey to Dimitri’s birthplace in Siberia, Rose Hathaway has finally returned to St. Vladimir’s—and to her best friend, Lissa. It is nearly graduation, and the girls can’t wait for their real lives beyond the Academy’s iron gates to begin. But Rose’s heart still aches for Dimitri, and he's out there, somewhere.

She failed to kill him when she had the chance. And now her worst fears are about to come true. Dimitri has tasted her blood, and she knows in her heart that he is hunting her. And if Rose won't join him, he won't rest until he's silenced her...forever.

Review: WOW!! How can I even begin to say how amazing this book was?

This book continues the story of Rose and of all her friends and those that aren't really her friends. It starts off just as Rose is about to take her trials to finally become a Guardian. She still doesn't give up hope that Dimitri can be saved and that to me was a great thing. Throughout the story she tries to do many things to help but at the end she must make a choice.

I still keep thinking that Rose is a great main character. She does so many crazy things because that's who she is but you can also see how she has matured and learned to control her feeling a bit more. I was glad to see that she would've done what she had to even if it hurt her. I'm glad that Lissa helped her in many ways and did things even though Rose didn't approve of them.

Adrian started to become a great person. He wasn't drinking or smoking and for me that made a big difference on him. Even though I think this I will always like Dimitri more. Dimitri. What can I say about him? He was still that bad Strigoi for which I was sorry. And at the end, will I won't say anything about it.

I seriously can't wait until the next book comes out and see what happens next. I hope Richelle Mead keeps up this great work and gives us readers another great book to read!

Rules of Attraction by Simone Elkeles

Title: Rules of Attraction
Author: Simone Elkeles
Published: 2010

Rating: 5/5
Summary: When Carlos Fuentes returns to America after living in Mexico for a year, he doesn’t want any part of the life his older brother, Alex, has laid out for him at a high school in Colorado . Carlos likes living his life on the edge and wants to carve his own path—just like Alex did. Then he meets Kiara Westford. She doesn’t talk much and is completely intimidated by Carlos’ wild ways. As they get to know one another, Carlos assumes Kiara thinks she’s too good for him, and refuses to admit that she might be getting to him. But he soon realizes that being himself is exactly what Kiara needs right now.

Review: When I found out that there would be a sequel to Perfect Chemistry I couldn't wait to read it. I'm glad that it was amazing!

This story is different than the one from Perfect Chemistry but it's just as good! After coming back from Mexico Carlos is unhappy because of what his brother, Alex, wants him to do. He goes out of his way to do things he knows his brother would disagree with. After something goes wrong he is forced to move in with a professor.

Carlos seems to be a lot like his brother but at the same time he's different from him. Unlike his brother he doesn't really want the life that his brother has. The things he said made me laugh and at times it also made me want to cry. He tries to deny that he loves Kiara but at the end he realizes the truth.

I loved Kiara! Her personality was awesome! She didn't get in trouble but also knew what to do when she wanted to get back at someone. She knows how to let free and enjoys stuff that may not be so common. Her reactions to Carlos were great, at times they made me laugh!

Overall, I greatly enjoyed this book and I'm glad that I read it! Now I just have to wait for the next book! Hopefully it comes out soon!

Over with Middle School!

Yesterday was the last day of school for me!! On Monday we had promotion and on Tuesday we went to Knott's Berry Farm. These last 3 days went really fast for me and I think it may have been because we always did something. For promotion I had to wear a dress and I curled my hair for the first time! Can you believe that in 14 years I hadn't straightened or curled my hair?! Anyway, I felt weird but also proud of myself! I also got a medal for perfect attendance for the last 3 years. It's hard to believe that I was there for every school day. Knott's was fun and when I came home I just wanted to go to sleep. Then today we went to our classes for the last time and some of us were happy while others were sad. I was sad to say good-bye to what had been my home-away-from-home for the last 3 years. I know I won't forget the great times I had there but now we must move on to other places.
In the pictures I'm the one with the black dress. Top: I'm the one with the white headband. The second to last going left to right. Middle: I'm next to the girl in white and by next to I don't mean chair by chair but in the picture. Bottom: It's a bunch of flowers that together look like a puppy! I love it!

Bloggiesta, Warp Up!

So I got a lot done this weekend! I must say I'm proud of myself! Some of the stuff that I got done were:
  • Write reviews (I got so many reviews done!)
  • Write that great post idea from three months back.
  • Improve your blog template, clean up sidebars, add a favicon, install those plugins that you’ve been meaning to do.
  • Add about me page (I still have to do this one and I'm hoping to do it soon)
  • Make sure all of your social network profiles are up to date. Brand yourself through those profiles with color scheme, images, etc.
  • Clean out and organize your feed reader and blog subscriptions.
  • Find a blogging buddy. (I'm hoping to get around to this in the near future. I'll do a post about, but is anyone interested? =))
Overall, I was really happy for what I got accomplished! I'll keep working on the things that I didn't get done and hopefully get them done soon! So how did your weekend go?
